DB Power’s Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) system, ordered in 2019, demonstrates our commitment to clean energy. Using advanced wet limestone scrubbing technology, it reduces SO₂ emissions and ensures compliance with MoEFCC norms.
Contract signed and engineering discussions initiated.
Design changes made to include absorber top chimney to save space and time. Absorber Top Chimney Initially the design was with existing chimney with glass flake lining, which has amended to absorber top based on proposal from EPC vendor due to less space availability & also to ensure scheduled time saving, No Outage time for Unit which in turn saving generation cost(2 Months time for application) & No outlet duct from absorber to chimney
By pass Duct & Damper To use the margin available with existing ID fan and also to ensure energy conservation single booster fan with bypass duct arrangement analyzed during design stage, Which is found suitable and cost saving measure in future.
Option -1 Use of separate chimney with borosilicate lining/Glass flake lining It has been seen separate chimney construction would have costly and time taking activity all together.
Option-2 Use of existing chimney with Glass flake lining-2 Months Unit shut down for application and FGD outlet duct connection.
Option-3 Opportunity among challenges is to go with Absorber top chimney which has overcome all the above mentioned challenges.
Construction of absorber, limestone slurry units, and booster fans began.
Absorber vessels, ducting systems, ID fans, booster fans installed.
Wet limestone scrubber commissioned with performance testing completed.
